Learn about Apollos Morris, an Irish patriot and retired British Army officer, who traveled to America during the American Revolution. The Irish landowner gained the respect of George Washington and almost joined the Patriot cause. However, his true mission was to seek a political solution that provided equal treatment for British subjects outside England. His foremost loyalties were to his Irish heritage and landownings.
